Do you like helping people understand their options?

Texas Lone Star Lending is looking for residential mortgage loan originators who care about education, communication, and helping people make smart home loan decisions.

Our brand is Your Loan Educator because we believe people should feel comfortable asking questions. That includes customers, real estate agents, business partners, and the people who join our team.

You don’t need to already be in the mortgage industry before we talk. You do need to be willing to learn, willing to market, willing to build relationships, and willing to do the work required to originate loans.

Residential Mortgage Loan Originator

Remote position serving Texas borrowers

This is a sales and relationship-building role. As a residential mortgage loan originator, you help customers understand their loan options, guide them through the mortgage process, and develop relationships that lead to new business.

If you’re not currently licensed, that doesn’t have to stop the conversation. You’ll need to become licensed before originating loans, but we’re open to talking with people who are considering the mortgage business and want to understand what it takes.

Who may be a good fit

This opportunity may be a good fit if you enjoy helping people, can explain complicated topics in plain English, and are comfortable building relationships over time.

  • You like answering questions and helping people feel more confident about important decisions.
  • You’re willing to market yourself and develop referral relationships.
  • You understand that success in mortgage origination takes persistence, follow-up, and trust-building.
  • You’re willing to participate as part of a team, including meetings, training, strategy conversations, and ongoing improvement.
  • You don’t need every answer today, but you’re willing to ask questions and learn how to do the job the right way.

What we provide

Texas Lone Star Lending is a small company, but we provide practical tools, experienced support, and a team environment for originators who want to build their business serving Texas borrowers.

  • Sponsorship of your residential mortgage loan originator license.
  • A loan origination platform and access to multiple investors for shopping loan options.
  • Marketing tools you can use with real estate agents, customers, and prospects.
  • A proprietary CRM you can use to create and manage marketing campaigns.
  • A company-funded marketing stipend based on your production, helping you cover business-development and marketing expenses as an employee.
  • An employee referral plan that rewards team members who help introduce productive loan originators to Texas Lone Star Lending, with referral bonuses paid by the company.
  • Campaign landing pages, website resources, educational content, and tools built around the Your Loan Educator brand.
  • A processing staff that works hard to close loans on time.
  • Training, guidance, and strategy conversations to help you learn how to do the job and build your business.
  • Commission-based compensation that rewards production.

Our originators are employees of Texas Lone Star Lending, not independent contractors. Compensation is commission-based and designed to reward production.

What we expect

We will help you learn the mortgage business, understand loan options, use our systems, and think through marketing strategies. But this is still an origination role, and originators are expected to develop their own business.

Texas Lone Star Lending receives some leads through the website, campaign landing pages, and online chat. When company leads are available, we share them equitably. But those leads should be viewed as supplemental. They are not a substitute for building your own referral sources and customer relationships.

You don’t have to be a full-time loan originator from day one, and we understand that people need to support themselves while building a business. But we’re looking for people who are committed to trying: trying to originate, trying to market, trying to get better, and trying to become part of the team.

This may not be the right fit if...

We want to be upfront about what this opportunity is and what it’s not.

  • This is probably not the right fit if you’re looking for a company to simply hand you a steady stream of leads.
  • It's probably not the right fit if you’re looking for 1099 sponsorship or independent-contractor status.
  • It’s probably not the right fit if you want to hold a license but don’t plan to actively market, learn, and originate.
  • It’s probably not the right fit if you’re uncomfortable with sales, follow-up, or relationship-building.

On the other hand, if you’re serious about learning, willing to do the work, and drawn to the idea of helping people understand one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives, we should talk.

Interested in talking?

If this sounds like the kind of mortgage company you would like to be part of, schedule a conversation. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we talk.

Bring your questions. We mean it when we say it’s okay to ask.
